Gen Con Housing works the same way in 2026 as it has in prior years.
The launch of the Gen Con Housing Help Center does not change:
- How much hotel inventory is allocated to any registrant group
- When or how registrant groups gain access to the housing portal
- Room limits, booking rules, or cancellation policies
- The relationship between Gen Con, registrant groups, and participating hotels
All registrant groups continue to book housing under the same rules, timelines, and terms of service.
What is new in 2026
The primary change for 2026 is how housing support is delivered.
Housing support for all registrant groups is now centralized through the Gen Con Housing Help Center, which provides:
- A single, authoritative source for housing instructions and policies
- Group-specific articles tailored to how each registrant group books and manages rooms
- 24/7 self-service support articles
- AI chat support for fast answers to common questions
- A single request system for reaching human housing agents when needed
This change is intended to improve clarity, consistency, and response times across all groups.
